The Church of Scotland started the Christian Minority College Madras Christian College, Chennai in 1837. It is one of the oldest colleges in Asia that teaches science and liberal arts. Rev. George James Laurie and Rev. Matthew Bowie made it happen.
It has always been ranked as one of the best ten colleges in India and is seen as one of the best colleges in India. It is a Christian college that is run by the Church of South India. It has had many well-known graduates over the years.

It is a government college for both men and women that is in the city of Delhi. It was set up so that people who deserved it could get a good college education and become a turning point on the way to progress.
The college is connected to the University of Madras in Chennai and was approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under sections 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act of 1956. It was also given a “A” grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on January 5, 2013. (2nd cycle).

In India, the college was one of the first to be given independence in 1978. In 1981, Madras Christian College sent out its first group of graduates who were able to live on their own. The college was named a “College with Potential for Excellence” (CPE).
