About Bharath Institute of Science and Technology
Dr. S. Jagathrakshakan started Bharath Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) with Sri Lakshmi Ammal Educational Trust in 1984. It was the first engineering college in Tamil Nadu that paid for itself. In 1989, the trust started the Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital. Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital was first recognised as a Deemed to be University by MHRD in July 2002, under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956, and put under the control of the new trust of Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER). The Bharath Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) and other institutions (below) were then brought under the control of the Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research (BIHER).

There are qualified staff members to teach different UG and PG programmes and guide students.
