Alpha Arts and Science College is managed by the Alpha Educational Society, a non-profit educational organization established under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. (AASC). The College is a private, autonomous, coed, arts and science college that was established in 1996 and is authorized by the Tamil Nadu government. It has earned NAAC certification and a permanent connection with the University of Madras.
This college, which has affiliations towards the University of Madras, uses a choice-based credit system and requires students to complete extension activities, value-based education, and soft skills training. Undergraduate programmes are three years long, and the University of Madras awards degrees upon successful completion of all prerequisite coursework and passing the university exams required for the programme within its six semesters of the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS).
