The Thai Moogambigai Polytechnic College was established by the TMT.Kannammal Educational Trust in 1985 with the goal of bringing about change and advancement via education. Within three years, the Thai Moogambigai Dental College was established in 1991, and the Dr. M.G.R. Engineering College was established in 1988. As per the directives of the Union Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India, New Delhi, and the University Grants Commission, New Delhi, both institutions received Deemed University status in 2003 under the name Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute.
The problems of the twenty-first century can be greatly reduced with the aid of technology and education.
